With Apologies to Dr. Geisel

a cheap knock off Holidays are over, back to the ol’ grind. The good news is I got to sit around and draw pictures all day for an ad. The bad news is I’m taking a children’s classic and co-opting it for commercial purposes. I think I did a good job, but I still feel dirty.

Fun is Go!

They’re up!

I also think I’m going to re-do the menus tonight on the whole site.ETA: Done! My mom told me a few months ago that she views at 640×480 and there’s no horizontal scroll at all, which means she doesn’t see the sidebar with the menu. Which, geez, I know better than that, so it’s going to go on the top. Plus, I don’t have that font anymore, so I have to redo them anyway so that the new “fun” button will match.

Oh man, I haven’t been this excited about web-stuff in a long time!

Gone Missing again

It’s been unusually quiet here this past month, hasn’t it? I moved. Again. And I’ve been working on a few things that should be some fun, for instance, see that little guy? Yeah, I’m going to add a section full of cute graphics like that little guy for your MySpacing pleasure. It’ll be a lot of the same images from the Snooglezoo, with lots of choices for sayings and that sort of thing. I’ve always wanted to get more interactive with this site- games and toys and whatnot, so I thought having some MySpace toys would do that nicely.

Pandas and Products

Here’s some proof that I occasionally draw on paper. With a real pencil.

This new snooglezoo thing is kind of a mixed blessing- I’m drawing more, and that’s good. But everything I’m drawing comes with the question “Can I turn this into something I can sell?”

It’s difficult striking the right balance; I want to make a living by drawing, but I don’t want to become a completely profit-motivated artist. I’m getting ahead of myself, though. I haven’t made a cent on CafePress yet, so really I don’t need to worry at all about profit. Just keep making cute stuff and the rest will take care of itself, right?

Oh, Right. This is why I Work Here…

Every now and then, when the planets align and the budget is right, I get to do something really fun and challenging at my regular job. This is one of those cool things. This is also one of the only chances I’ve had to do anything in Flash in a long time.
