So, I got a scanner (a Canon CanoScan LiDE 25, to be precise) from my uncle and aunt for my birthday last month, and never really got around to unboxing it until just now (mostly because I need to use it for a project at work, how sad is that?).

So now I can share some of the things from my pursebound sketchbook, like these doodles of the dogs. This is the maiden scan, so to speak. So far I’m pretty pleased. I like the new ScanGear software, and it all seems a little faster than I expected. Nice smooth image from a drawing on crappy sketch paper. Next thing to scan is from a product catalogue, so I’ll edit this post later to report on how it handles moire dots.

Okay.

So.

I was totally going to update this week, include my big news with pictures and all that. I was really going to get back on track.

But then I got rear-ended by a semi truck yesterday. Punched me right across the intersection.

I’m okay. I strained my neck a bit, and the car…well, Sentras are great because those huge back ends just fold right up and the cab stays intact. That car probably saved my life. So, the car is pretty much totaled. But I’m fine.

And the dog is fine, too. That’s the big announcement: I got a dog! Her name is Lily, she’s a terrier, lab, and a few other things mix. She’s about 9 weeks old, and she’s a darling. I’ll post some pictures soon, but my cable is at my house and I’m at Brad’s right now and it’s not quite as easy to hop down the hill and pick something up anymore.
