Well, because my dayjob’s schedule is weird this week, Panda Thursday came and went a few times and I burned through my back-log almost as quickly as I had produced it. And it’s Friday. But rather than just let Panda Thursday pass with nary a Panda to be seen, I give you a funny little page of doodles. I think the panda eyes with “Is it Thursday Yet?” is going to become a tshirt, not for SnoogleZoo, but for here. Because I think it’s funny

This is what I find myself working on in all of my spare time these days. I haven’t done anything with a CMS in something like 5 or 6 years, so this is a fun adventure. I can’t wait until I’ve got the new (and very permanent) SnoogleZoo fleshed out and ready for a real launch. This is just a tasty preview. I love that it’s looking more-or-less like my original design.

Here’s Panda Thursday- I was going to introduce you to another character from the SnoogleZoo, but it turns out tanuki are canids and not even closely related to pandas, so another time. I made a quickie face (I’m actually home sick today with a migrane, but I didn’t want to cop out on Panda Thursday!).  Enjoy!

So, this week’s Panda Thursday comes to you as a result of my obsessive creation of new content for SnoogleZoo. It’s a new character named OMG Panda, based on that same character template I used for Yo Yo Neko and Suki. He’s got a little buddy, who you’ll meet next week.

My buddy requested I make a Yo Yo Neko that’s black and named Suki. I tweaked the kitty design a little, and I like this a lot better- not quite as husky looking as the earlier versions. I think I’m going to put this one up on the SnoogleZoo. I put up some things with this on SnoogleZoo last night!

Aside from the reading, and the math problems, and, y’know, the actual playing of poker, I’ve been scouring the intertubes for experiences about the ladies’ event. I found this article both informative and hilarious.

Oh yes, Panda Thursday is back again. Over here. I’m going to do something weird to the other site, so pandas over here. Stay tuned, this’ll be fun (and longer lived, as I’m working ahead!)

So, in amongst all my studying for the WSOP, I am in fact still drawing. As a matter of fact I spent the last morning of my very-short vacation hanging out at the cafe making a sort of skeleton that I can just take and change the detail to make different characters. So here’s the first character on that skeleton, Yo Yo Neko. She reminds me ever so slightly of somebody, I just can’t place who…

I played in a ladies-only poker tournament at the local casino tonight, and I took it down for eight hundred bucks and a buy-in to the ladies tournament at the World Series of Poker! I’m going! It’s really happening!

It was kind of a lark to play, I almost didn’t go. I’m so glad I did. I made exactly two bonehead mistakes- one was that I thought somebody raised and I folded my big blind. It didn’t hit, so it was more embarrassing than anything else. The other was a too-big raise on a marginal hand out of position, and the girl was hitting cards like crazy. Anyway I made up for it. I knocked out maybe a third of the feild (which was 27 total), and I had a big chip lead when we got to the head-to-head. The other person said “so, I can’t go to Vegas- I have kids and can’t get a sitter- can I just forfeit for 2nd?”

Wait, what? Seriously? Yeah, seriously. And that was it. So they took my information, and they’re sending me a check and a hat and a t-shirt, and I’m going!
