Oddly enough, I think this is the first time a Panda has shown up on a calendar so far. I have only repeated elephants so far, and just once, I think.

Chester looks a bit like an overgrown squirrel with a big thick tail that drags on the ground. He’s not too bright, but he has a knack for opening stubborn jars, and that makes him a valuable friend to have in the Snooglezoo.

The best guess of just about every doctor I’ve seen is that I have some sort of latent, lingering form of mono that expresses itself whenever I catch a cold. Which is to say I’ve had a cold for the past week, and have therefore been barely able to drag myself out of bed and get to work every day. I’m getting over it, though, so I hope to resume regular updates this weekend. In the meantime, I have been continuing with the calendar doodles, which you can see on my flickr feed. The good ones may show up in other forms elsewhere, too!

So, as it stands right now, we’ve got Monster Monday, Cowsday (tuesday, with Cows), Weird Wildlife Wednesday, Panda Thursday, and Friday Fish. Here’s your Monster Monday- it’s kind of cheating because I drew this a long time ago, but I wanted to post the results with a picture, and I’m still recovering from Vegas.

Meanwhile, work on SnoogleZoo returns to it’s regular pace. I’m feeling very enthusiastic about that project right now- momentum is growing, and it’s a lot of fun besides!

Second, I’m leaving for Vegas this afternoon. I’ve been alternately practicing for the tournament and stressing out about it for the last week, which has thrown off my already wobbly routine of updating this here blog and working on SnoogleZoo. For better or worse, I will get back on track at the end of next week. Also, watch this sapce this weekend, as I will be posting some kind of update of my progress.

Thirdly, I was playing with Plurk last night and I think it’s pretty neat (albeit slow-loading just yet). If anybody wants in I can has invite.

I have a deadline on a paying project coming up, so my usual time for Panda Thursday was taken up by that, and I ate through my buffer. But my real problem appears to be that, once I’ve filled up the whole front page of my blog with pandas by posting every Thursday and no other time, I just get sick and tired of drawing pandas.

So what do I do?

Panda Thursday was meant to be an exercise in making sure I’m drawing and posting to my blog at least once a week. I think I can still do that, but be more flexible about it by adding more creatures to more days, and mandating an update of at least one. That’ll keep me from feeling so stagnant after a million pandas.

So, I need some help coming up with creatures. I want to do Monster Monday, Panda Thursday (natch), Fish Friday ( because we used to be Catholic). But what about Tuesday and Wednesday? If you have a suggestion, leave me a comment. The creature doesn’t have to be an alliteration of the day of the week, unless it’s too awesome to pass up.

Doesn’t this look like a road sign? I didn’t do that on purpose- I just like that rust red color, and I thought it’d look cute with a border. I don’t know why a sleeping panda dreaming of bamboo would need a road sign. Anyway, here’s your Panda Thursday!
