Saturday Peacocks
I’ve been drawing peacocks all day! This is the one I didn’t have to scan.
I started this peacock for a repeating pattern, and I got carried away with the small details like feathers, and the iridescence. It’s too complicated for a small pattern, and now I’m not really sure what to do with it. It’s big enough to make a nice print, so maybe it’ll become that.

This is my sketchblog, which is for doodles, comics, essays, and other stuff that an illustrator and comicker might blog about. I'm Veronica, and I run this joint. All the artwork is copyright Veronica C Guzzardi. Please don't use it without permission from me. Please contact me if you want to pay me to draw for you; that's my favorite.
That is very pretty.
It’s beautiful
Yah, I vote for a print. It’s too pretty to let fall into oblivion.
man, how do you *do* that?! I play around in that vector program you tipped me off to every once in a while and I can’t get *anything* to look like that!…it’s the stylus isn’t it? oh for the artistic genes!! *sob*…ok i’m done now…
I did this in Photoshop, so no vector anything. I suppose you could do it in Illustrator, but unless you were planning on making a billboard-sized print, there’d be no point (even so, I could probably get a good enough trace out of the 8″x8″ source file for this to pull something like that off.)
I’ve been working with digital paint and the tablet for going on nine years now, and y’know, working at drawing for quite a bit longer than that (twenty-what? When was First Grade?). Put the time in, and you’ll get something to look like this.
