I am very proud to announce the launch of a new project here on bU.org - How to Draw Animals is a daily blog with lessons, exercises and points of study on how to draw animals, and just about everything else. I’m focusing on animals because it’s pretty much my favorite subject to draw, and it’s a nice organic place to start learning to draw.

This has been something I’ve been bouncing around in my head in various forms for years- I’ve always thought that anyone can learn to draw, it isn’t so much talent as application of technique and a lot of practice. But because of the miserable way we treat art in schools, the technique doesn’t get taught, so the only people who can draw are the ones who can figure it out on their own.

You don’t need anything special to get started- just grab a pencil and some white paper and come learn how to draw animals!
