On Getting What You Need
I had something pretty remarkable happen to me this week.
I ran out of money. That’s not the remarkable part, that happens whenever I have some sort of situation change. I just moved and I’m still working on my budget and billpaying schedule relative to the whole higher-rent-but-no-utilities situation, so this was bound to happen.
Anyway.
I usually worry like crazy when this happens. My god, what am I going to eat!? Well, in keeping with this new trend of not fretting over things I have no control over, I worked really hard at not worrying. And this is the remarkable part: at every turn I found people offering me the meals I couldn’t buy myself. Good meals, too. Not only that, but this afternoon I got a chirstmas card with a check in it-enough to hold me over until next payday. Sweet!
I get this really strong sense that I’m being told something here. My boyfriend has a reggae radio show, so I’ve been listening to a lot
of reggae
lately. And after a while if you hear “have faith and Jah will feed you” enough you start to believe it. So you believe, and you get what you need, and then you write histrionic blog posts about it.
Seriously though. I can’t help but feel grateful for what I’ve been provided with lately.
