I spent a lot of free time this week worrying about coming up with something good for Illustration Friday since I kind of half-assed the last one. This is part of the reason why I’m so blocked all the time- I end up censoring everything for being dumb or derivative before my pen ever touches the paper.

Time to get cocky! As I was born in the Year of the Rooster (1981) I’ve decided that this year is my year. I’ve been really kind of aimless since I finished school, partly because I’m afraid of putting my work out there in earnest to be judged. Well, I will definitely fail if I don’t try, right? And I know I have some skill, right? Enough to land a job or two, here and there? Certainly!

Every time I whimper about my situation, I must remember to Be Cocky! and do something to fix it.
